Home base
Our office is at 340 Midpark Way SE, just off Macleod Trail in south Calgary, and most of our work happens inside city limits. Plenty of roofing companies exist here as a phone number and a sales territory. We live under the weather we work on: chinooks that peel shingles in February, hail in July, freeze-thaw at every eave in between.
Being close changes the practical side too. If something on a roof we installed needs attention two winters from now, the company that put it there is still just up Macleod Trail, and the 15-year written workmanship warranty is held by us, not a head office in another province.

Hailstorm Alley
Calgary sits in Hailstorm Alley, and every few summers the sky reminds the whole city at once.
That is why hail restoration is core roofing work here, not a sideline. We are HAAG-certified for residential roof inspections, so the report we hand you is written to the standard adjusters actually use, and we will say so plainly when the damage does not justify a claim. Calgary roofs
Calgary built out in waves, and the wave your house belongs to changes what a proper roofing quote has to cover.
Acadia, Fairview, Thorncliffe, Huntington Hills. A lot of these bungalows are still carrying more than one layer of shingles, because roofing over the old layer used to be normal practice. It all has to come off now, which means serious disposal weight and a first honest look at the deck boards underneath. Our roof replacement quotes on these streets price the tear-off and any deck repairs up front instead of springing them on you mid-job.
Cranston, Auburn Bay, Legacy, Evanston, Panorama Hills. Whole communities went up within a few years of each other, so whole communities are hitting first-roof age together now. If the neighbours are collecting quotes, a roof inspection tells you where yours actually stands, in writing. And when a roof repair will honestly buy the roof a few more years, that is what we will recommend.

The local record
Calgary's hail record is not a run of bad luck. It is the pattern the roof on your house has to be built for.
Figures are industry-reported insured losses (Insurance Bureau of Canada and CatIQ estimates) and Environment Canada storm records.
All five landed between June 13 and August 14. That is the inspection window: get on the calendar in May, not the week after a storm when every roofer in the city is booked.
The 2020 and 2024 storms hit the north and northeast hardest. If you live in Saddle Ridge, Martindale, Taradale or the communities around the airport, your roof has most likely been through one of them already, and a roof inspection tells you what it left behind.
Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated for the hail these storms drop. The City has run a Resilient Roofing Rebate Program worth up to $3,000 toward Class 4 roofing; it opens and closes as funding windows change, so check calgary.ca/hail before you decide.
A standard tear-off and re-shingle doesn't need a City of Calgary building permit. Structural changes do, and we file those before the job starts.
Questions
Not for a standard re-roof. Stripping the old shingles off a house and installing new ones does not need a building permit from the City of Calgary. Permits come into play when the structure changes, a new dormer or a raised roofline, and if your project crosses that line we handle the paperwork before work starts.
We book Monday to Friday, 8 to 5. Repairs usually land in the schedule sooner than full replacements, and quiet months book faster than the weeks after a major hailstorm, when half the city is calling every roofer at once. Either way, you get a real start date, not a guess.

June through August. All five of the city's costliest hailstorms landed between June 13 and August 14. Late spring is the time to have a roof inspected, before the season starts and before the post-storm rush fills every roofer's calendar.
The City's Resilient Roofing Rebate Program has offered up to $3,000 toward a Class 4 impact-resistant roof, and it has opened, closed and reopened as funding windows changed. Check calgary.ca/hail for the current window before you sign a contract, and ask us to quote Class 4 alongside standard shingles so you can compare.
The northeast took the June 2020 storm: Saddle Ridge, Martindale, Taradale, Falconridge and their neighbours. The August 2024 storm crossed the north of the city and the airport area on its way east to Chestermere. If you are in either footprint and the roof has not been inspected since, that is the first thing to book.
For most Calgary roofs, yes, and we quote them alongside standard shingles so you see the difference in writing. Class 4 is the highest impact rating a shingle can carry. It costs more per square, some insurers price the policy accordingly, and the City's rebate has covered part of the gap when its funding window is open.
